Photos Schmotos

When Liam was born I found these cute little "month" stickers at a baby boutique.

I stick one onto him and snap a photo each month.

We're lucky because Liam has been a pretty photogenic baby. I've been able to capture him smiling each time.

Here are the "nice" photos of Liam:

Wow has he grown!

And here are the unedited, not-so-photogenic photos:
"I am nooottttt happyyy mommmaaaa!"

"Goooo Packers!"

"Ha ha ha...I pooped my diaper!"

Deer in headlights.

"But I don't want to smile."

"If I stick my tongue out like this..."

"Do I have something on my face?"

Oh boy...what did we get ourselves into?

"I'm cool like that."

"Could I be any more cute?"

Water Lilies

Last Wednesday I taught an art class at Movers & Shakers Kids Toys. I had two young girls attend the class. They learned a little about Claude Monet and created their own versions of his famous "Bridge Over A Pond Of Water Lilies" painting.

The girls loved working with watercolors

Adding shadows to the lily pads and bridge

Learning how to blend colors

I will be teaching five more art classes this summer.
It's refreshing to see young kids interested in art.
Who knows...maybe one of them will be a famous artist someday! How cool it would be to say that I helped influence them.

My mother-in-law and I made some sweet currant-raspberry jelly yesterday. Matt and I picked the currants from our backyard currant bush. You can't get much more homemade than that! The taste and color turned out great.

I can't wait to smear a delicious glob across a buttery, crusty piece of bread...

A simple blog

I'm so excited to unveil my new blog! I've been itching to create a blog for a few years now. It took me a while to just sit down and do it.

A lot of blogs seem to focus on one or two topics, such as food or family. My issue is that I just love too many things! I kept trying to decide on one thing to blog about. I finally made up my mind. I'm going to blog about anything and everything that makes me smile: family, friends, food, travels, arts and crafts.

I'm not going to share every little detail of our lives. Just simple, smile-inducing tidbits that I find worth sharing. A little bit of writing and a lot of photographs.

I apologize, ahead of time, for the insane amount of photos I will be posting of our precious Liam. He makes me smile on an hourly basis, therefore he will be blogged about ridiculously.

I invite you to join me on this journey...of life as we go it!

Why I get up at 6 a.m. and I'm okay with it...
