For a good time, try a lime

I haven't done one of these posts in a while.
They're my favorite because it's just random photos of everyday life.

Things that have made me smile lately...

This tiny Lego chair Liam made me.

Sharing hot cocoa (with extra marshmallows) on a cool, Spring day.

Liam in a box with markers = I got some laundry done.

These little legs. Plus velcro tennis shoes. Oh. My. Sweetness!

These two chalkin' it up on the driveway together.

A surprise message in the sand while out for a walk.

A completed piece of art I did for a fundraiser. To see my fork and read more
about June-A-Palooza click here.

A morning at the park. These two giggling at the same time on the swings :)

Liam and Rylan taste-testing slices of lime. Ha ha!

My little peanut enjoying being at the cabin. She's already an 'outdoorsy' kinda gal.

At the cabin over Memorial Day Weekend -
Liam, Bella and Rylan all getting along together. Amen!

My sweet niece Caroline turned 15.

The new mirror in our front entry - it only took me 5 years to find one that I loved.

Gnomeo #2 watching over our front flower gardens.

And some new artwork by Liam framed in our kitchen.

Have a nice week!

Busy tizzy

The past week was filled with lots of outdoor play for Liam, yard work for Matt and I, and some visits from friends and family.

Matt and I busted some a-s-s and got a ton of yard work done! We added fresh chocolate-brown wood chips to all of our landscaping, finished adding wood chips to Liam's swing set/play area, got our garden completely weeded/prepped/planted, trimmed some trees, planted hanging ferns and I planted a bunch of annuals and perennials. I'll show you some photos later this week...

My friend Heather (whom I've known since we were 5-years old) visited with her daughter last Sunday morning. My aunt Ginger visited on Wednesday night. My brother and niece visited on Saturday. And Matt's parents visited on Sunday for Father's Day.

Liam burned off steam at a park play date & ran around the yard everyday. Chloe's been napping and sleeping great at night. Matt went on a fishing trip in Madison. And Matt & I snuck out of the house for a date on Saturday night (thanks to my superstar babysitter niece).

Some photos of what made me smile this past week:

The kids in their jammies...

Liam able to slide on the 'big kid' slides this year...

A mean egg, cheese & ham sandwich that I made for my man...

Flowers that Matt brought home for me...

The Father's Day gifts that Liam (and Chloe) made for Matt...

Liam helping Matt open his gifts...

A cool gift that Chloe received...

And some SWEET old wooden cars that I found at our local ReStore for only $1 a piece.
These will look great on a shelf in Liam's travel-themed bedroom.

Have a happy week :)

Busy bodies

This past weekend was filled with many things.

On Friday night we did a little yard work, had some friends over for pizza and drinks, and then just Matt and I watched a movie once Liam was in bed. The movie we watched was The Host and I actually thought it was pretty good. Has anyone else seen this movie? What did you think of it?

On Saturday we attended the John Michael Kohler Arts Center Midsummer Festival of the Arts. And we purchased a painting from an amazing artist from Milwaukee. It's already hanging above our fireplace and we're in love with it. Matt and I bought it for each other for our anniversary :) Then we went to our friend's daughter's birthday party in the afternoon. Liam had fun bouncing around with the kids. Later in the evening Matt and I went to Stefano's for dinner to celebrate our 6-year wedding anniversary.

On Sunday we went to Kohler-Andrae State Park for a hike in the dunes and a walk on the beach with Liam. Phew! What a busy weekend.

And on Tuesday and Wednesday Liam and I took a little road trip to my mom's house and Matt's parents' house. Liam had a blast playing with his cousin Rylan at my mom's house :)

Here are a few photos of all of the above:

The painting we got for our anniversary :) It's a grouping of birch trees by artist Vicki Strobel.

Liam and his friend Cole at Bailey's birthday party.

The champagne we had at Stefano's (thanks mom!).

Walking in the dunes.

Liam and his favorite past time -- playing in his sand/water table.

Liam and Rylan playing in a tent at my mom's house.

Liam's cousin, Rylan.

My cutie.

Clanking, banging and babbling

Our sweetie :)

Liam rocks our world. Plain and simple.

Matt and I look at each other sometimes and just smile. We say to each other "I can't believe we MADE this cool little human being." It just amazes us that we've been caring for him for sixteen months already!

We've been very busy with our little man lately. I'll let the photos do the talking:

He is getting into EVERYthing. We now have locks on every cupboard
and locks on the toilets :)

He doesn't want us to help feed him anymore. He wants to do it all
by himself. Thus the yogurt all over his face!

He absolutely loves bath time. He gets really cranky when we take him out of the tub.
If he had it his way I think he'd stay in it all day long.

He is constantly learning new things.  He's always pushing buttons, throwing things,
clanking, banging and babbling. He never sits still.

Working on some puzzles.

My favorite feet!!

Matt's colleague gave us this little chair + ottoman for Liam.
He loves sitting on it and looking at his books.

He loves, loves, loves slides. He's even taken them head-first a few times.

I swear, Liam never looks at the camera when Matt actually decides to take
a photo of us together. At Deland Park.

Liam made such a mess during his outdoor-dinner that Matt got the Shop Vac
out to clean up the high chair. Liam thought it was funny :)
